On the surface this looks like an ordinary dining chair but on closer look, surprising details such as the backrest made up of two curved pieces and a slender frame, add unexpected movement and dynamism to the construction. The manufacturing of the item requires a manual installation of the rope or cane that needs artisanal craft and creates an elaborate inter - play with the bentwood parts. With it we hope to have achieved how Japanese translate Umami to English the “essence of deliciousness”.
